Before the World War II, needles with Globe Mark of Theodor Groz were imported to Japan by a trading company, Iwata Shokai, Ltd.(founded in 1907).  Those needles were mainly springbeard needles for loop wheel and tricot machines.   During the war, the import of needles was completely interrupted.   At the reopening of the civil foreign trade after the war, the import was started again by Yoshida Shokai, Ltd., which was established in 1950 by Mr. Saburo Yoshida (former director of Iwata Shokai, Ltd.) and his persons concerned.


1950

Yoshida Shokai, Ltd. was founded in the city of Osaka, and began to import knitting needles from Groz-Beckert, Germany.


1953

Yoshida Shokai, Ltd. formally concluded with Groz-Beckert a contract for sole agent in Japan.


1982

Groz-Beckert acquired the majority of shares of Yoshida Shokai, Ltd.


1987

Groz-Beckert acquired 100% Yoshida Shokai, Ltd.


1991

New Groz-Beckert Building of 2,585 square meter was completed in the city of Osaka and Company moved to the new building and changed the name to "Groz-Beckert Japan, K.K."
