One programme, two degrees

Do you want to be able to discuss technical issues with specialists at eye level and at the same time take a holistic view of processes?

A combined degree programme offers you both: a sound technical vocational training combined with a scientific degree at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences. This combination offers you the unique opportunity to gain a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) qualification and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a time saving of two years - compared to separate training and subsequent university studies.

Your training partner is the Philipp-Matthäus-Hahn vocational school in Balingen.

The combined study programme according to the Albstadt Model in detail

Procedure and scholarship

You start with a shortened apprenticeship in the autumn and receive the collectively agreed apprenticeship pay. In spring, you complete the first theory semester at the university from March to July. After that, you continue your training.

In the following autumn, you go to the university again and complete the 2nd theory semester from October to February. After that, you spend one year at a time in the company, interrupted by vocational school. During this year, you will be well prepared for your skilled worker examination, which you will complete in February of the following year, thus earning your IHK diploma.

From then on you are a scholarship holder at Groz-Beckert, i.e. you receive a monthly scholarship. In March, you return to the university and complete the next theory semester like "normal" students. During the semester break, you will work in various departments at Groz-Beckert. An additional practical block abroad is an integral part of this study phase. The practical phases during the semester breaks replace the 5th semester, the practical semester. This way you save time again and receive your Bachelor's degree in record time - after two years as a scholarship holder.
