Biosteel® – AMSilk and the secret of the spider
Over millions of years, nature has brought forth various different and unique materials – these have often been surpassed in many ways by synthetically created ones. One outstanding example here is spider silk. AMSilk has now succeeded in synthetically producing this unique natural product and bringing it to market readiness. But what are the properties and the potential of this synthetic spider silk, known by the brand name of Biosteel®?
Wool School Project
New impulses for wool, and motivating opportunities for prospective fashion designers: against this backdrop the "Wool School Project“ is supporting cooperation between fashion and textile institutes as well as selected retailers and fashion firms. In this regard, the fashion company Marc Cain and Niederrhein University successfully created a path-breaking cooperation project. The idea is inspiring – as are the results, in the form of creative designs!
New - Cleaning systems
Groz-Beckert sees itself not only as a driving force in the weaving industry because of its excellent products for high precision in production, but also as a provider of convincing solutions for the weaving preparation process. The entire textile value chain is covered: drawing in, tying and weaving. And that's not all – cleaning systems are now also part of the portfolio, guaranteeing fast and thorough preparation of drop wires, reeds and healds. This has been made possible through integration of Spaleck textile machines.
New – drive element DRC 1E
Modern airjet weaving machines have to comply with constantly increasing requirements. This is primarily reflected in faster speeds, which place all the materials involved under great stress. As a connecting element between the heald frame and the driving system, drive elements are subjected to high stresses. This is why Groz-Beckert has developed a solution for long-term operation: the new DRC 1E drive element.
New – Plastic heald
In textile surface production, the interplay of all components is of special importance. As a systems provider and specialist for thread-guiding components, Groz-Beckert has developed the plastic heald OPTIFIL® 3D, demonstrating how innovative products can be created using solid processing know-how and state-of-the-art technology.
The new plastic heald combines the proven technology of the patented OPTIFIL® thread eye with the potential of advanced plastics processing. Find out more about this innovation – and experience the third dimension in the production of first-class filament fabrics!
SETTING STANDARDS – NEW FELTING NEEDLES AND JETSTRIPS
At this year's Techtextil from June 11-13 in Frankfurt am Main, Groz-Beckert will be presenting exciting innovations for the nonwovens sector. In addition to the proven product range there will also be numerous "young products" in the spotlight – for more efficiency and productivity in the production process for nonwovens and other areas of application. Innovations for presentation will include the "twisted needle" and also HyTec® D jetstrips! Make sure you benefit from these creative ideas as well!
A further developed Level Cut Loop module
Demand for tufted floor coverings for the real estate market, the private sector, the "hospitality" sector and for institutional facilities is steadily increasing. Carpet floor coverings in Level Cut Loop design are playing a major role here, especially where carpet tiles are concerned. This new trend requires new solutions where production is concerned – and this is why Groz-Beckert, in cooperation with leading tufting-machine manufacturers, has now rolled out the second generation of Level Cut Loop modules (LCLM) in the USA – with excellent results!
Functional and visually perfect seams
Particularly in the automotive sector, the greatest importance is placed on perfect-looking seams and optimal functionality of side seams and decorative seams. Sewing-machine needles from Groz-Beckert create seams on which you can rely at all times!
